We would like to recruit a motivated, enthusiastic postdoctoral Research Associate to join the group of Prof Menna Clatworthy in the Department of Medicine (http://www.med.cam.ac.uk/clatworthy), to make the most of this exceptional opportunity to study human immunity. The post-holder will be involved in projects investigating blood and tissue immune responses in kidney diseases, including using single cell RNA sequencing, antigen receptor sequencing data, and spatial transcriptomics.

The appointee will have a PhD in relevant subject (e.g. Immunology, Molecular Biology, or Genomics), preferably with experience in analysing scRNAseq data from human studies. The successful candidate will ideally a track-record in wet bench cellular immunology, but also have associated computational expertise. Knowledge and awareness of immune-mediated kidney diseases and potential pathogenic mechanisms would also be useful.

The appointee will be responsible for an independent project, but may also contribute to other lab projects via analysis or joint experiments.

The Clatworthy lab also hosts undergraduate summer students, MPhil and PhD students, and the successful applicant would be expected to contribute to training and providing a welcoming supportive environment.

The appointee will have an opportunity to present their project and research in lab meetings and at the CITIID Post Doc/PhD student seminar series, and will be encouraged to help draft abstracts and manuscripts to build their writing experience. For informal enquiries, please contact Professor Menna Clatworthy (mrc38@cam.ac.uk)

Appointment at Research Associate level is dependent on having a PhD, or an equivalent research doctorate. Those who have submitted but not yet received their PhD will be appointed at Research Assistant level, which will be amended to Research Associate once PhD has been awarded.
