HR Administrator (Casual Workforce)

The Casual Worker HR Team forms part of HR Shared Services and provides a comprehensive service to departments to support them in their management of the University's casual workforce. The team provides advice and guidance regarding use of the Cambridge Casual Worker System (CCWS); the system used to manage the administration involved in the right to work status of a worker, booking casual work, processing timesheets and handling payroll.

We are a small, friendly and supportive team that aims to provide a high standard of customer service to our colleagues, helping them to work towards a more strategic approach to planning and managing our casual workforce, and to ensure consistency across the organisation.

The Role:

As the HR Administrator, you will work within the Casual Worker HR Team and support the Casual Worker HR Manager with general administration related to the casual workforce, including data entry, reviewing reports, processing leavers and handling queries. You will liaise with departments across the University to provide clear advice on standard policies and procedures governing casual workers paid using the Cambridge Casual Worker System (CCWS).

Temporary cover: This post is fixed-term for 1 years or the return of the post holder, whichever is the earlier.

About you:

Applicants should be educated to A-level standard (or equivalent) or have a comparable level of practical experience. You should have experience working in an administrative environment and be proficient in using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel). In order to succeed in this role you should be able to work under pressure and remain calm in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple processes and working to tight deadlines. Attention to detail is essential as is the ability to deliver a high level of customer service.

Elements of this role are suitable for hybrid working, where staff can split their time between in-person collaboration and remote working. The frequency of the remote elements of the role can be discussed with the recruiting manager.
