Contracts Manager
The Role:
Housing Services is responsible for the management, operation and maintenance of 686 Key Worker Houses and public realm within the Eddington development in North West Cambridge, plus a 400 further residential units across Cambridge. The provision of all Repairs/Maintenance and Estate Management support is currently via a Total Facilities Management contract. There are further support contracts relating to the management and delivery of energy services through a district heat network system.
The Senior Contracts Manager is a key role within Housing Services, providing the in-house expertise to support all contract management activity, ensuring the University receives value for money, holding suppliers to account, and developing and delivering new and enhanced contracted solutions as require to best support Housing Services and Estate Management. They will also act as a key interface with the Estates Development, Programme Delivery, Property Management and Sustainability functions.
About you:
In order to succeed in this role, you will join us with the necessary knowledge, skills and experience to:
- To oversee and administer maintenance and compliance contracts and delivery across the designated Operational Hub, acting as a key interface between the contractors and operatives delivering services, and the Residents and Tenants that occupy buildings. This includes processing and approval of quotations, work orders, contract instructions and the like, within a delegated level of authority.
- To drive high standards of maintenance, statutory compliance and health and safety performance across all contracts, monitoring performance against contractual KPIs and service level agreements, and addressing areas of poor performance with the contractor representative.
- To develop monthly reporting tools, tracking expenditure against progress and forecasting progress of different workstreams and compliance activities.
- To ensure, across all specialist areas, that the University complies with its duties under legislation, British Standards, guidance notes, approved codes of practice, manufacturers' instructions and individual building requirements and other relevant legislation.
